Exhaust fumes in Thar Cabin

Has any of the existing owners of Thar noticed that at times you get the smell of exhaust fumes in the cabin even when the windows are rolled up and the rear flap of the canopy is closed ? I have done some trail and error and my observation is that when the blower (fan) is turned off - that's when I get the smell of exhaust fumes - even rolling the windows down does not help - the smell is there and it immediately goes off when the fan/blower is turned on. Any ideas - why would the exhaust fumes come in and why does it stop when the blower is turned on. If I am seeing some random correlation to the exhaust fumes and fan on position - is there a better way to understand / diagnose how the fumes end up in the Cabin?

Hyundai updates Santa Fe in Australia

Hyundai engineers may be fine-tuning the next generation Santa Fe understood to wear the ix45 monicker in select markets, but the Australian division is paying no mind to that development. They have introduced a moderate update for 2012 with new features such as matching skid plates, chrome tail garnish, roof racks and fog lamp surrounds finished in black on the two highest variants, perforated leather seats on the top-end variant  and 18-inch alloy wheels. For the 2012 model, Hyundai fits hill descent control on all variants but for the entry-level SLX manual. The powertrains remain unchanged with the 2.2-litre CRDi diesel engine with all-wheel drive, and the 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine driving the front wheels.

Tata Nano from 509 to 6,401 units (November 10-11)

Its a new record for the small wonder Tata Nano. The car which sold only 509 units in November 2010 has reported sales of 6,401 units in the same month n 2011. The Nano which saw many ups and downs in 2010 is now getting close to the target which Tata Motors have set, that

well, Its Tata Manza Aura finally

Well its finally Tata Manza. I had a Hyundai Santro for almost 5 years and served me the best I could ever dreamed. It had so many memories attached to it and for me it was really hard to say goodbye to her. In last five year the car had accompanied me travelling more than 85000 KMs and made me enjoyed some crazy trips. Now since it was getting older and my family and needs are getting expended, its time to buy a diesel car with a bigger space. I was very fascinated to buy a SUV as wanted to travel through the different places in the Himalayas and started taking the test drives of Scorpio and Safari. I personally liked Scorpio initially for the fact of its aggressive looks and smaller turning radius but after taking the test drive of Safari, my family almost fell In love with the space and comfort they had sitting in Safari:D. Moreover by now I also started loving it and finally I started calculating the money. After doing a deep calculation on the uses of the car and the money I had to pay, it was not making sense for me to buy Safari at the moment and rather I decided to buy a Sedan. Hunt started again and I had Swift Desire, Tata Manza, Fiesta in the list and looking at the complete VFM and space factor, Manza came out to be the complete winner and GTO's review indeed helped big way in the taking the fast decision. I spoke to my contact in Techno and booked Manza Aura diesel. I didn't decide to go for ABS as still feel that I am good without ABS and do not use sudden break at all. It has been in habit now to push the break many times till it gets to the complete stop and this is what ABS do. Also, I read somewhere that maintenance for the ABS will be a bit costly in future. ( I know I can be wrong here but looking at the budget, I am cool with a NON ABS car)stupid: Though I know the owner of Techno Auto through one of the close friend but the staff had really been very great during the whole deal till now except the valuation they have done for my Santro which may be more business sense but I felt like they are trying to buy the car in the cost of peanuts. :Frustrati I would highly recommend Rohit Wahi & Hemant from Techno Auto for their Services. They had actually been very helpful and served always with the smile. It is a great co incidence that the guy who sold me Santro from Suhrit Hyundai 5 years back, his name was also Hemant..lol: I have given the booking amount and visited their stockyard in Najafgarh last week to inspect the car before they bill it in my name. I must say that they have quite good stock of the cars there. It seems that the they got the car ready for some other customer few days back but the guy couldn't take the delivery, assuming so by looking at the ribbon. Checked the car and nothing seems to be fishy, odo says 34 KM which should be OK I guess. Car is billed and now the time to sell my Santro.:) Posted on different sites and started getting the calls, finally settled the deal today. I will be getting the delivery of the Manza tomorrow and will update further.

Volkswagen Jetta is Sagitar for Chinese market

Volkswagen has showcased a new model positioned between Polo and Passat called Sagitar in China. Turns out that Sagitar is the latest generation Jetta, along the lines of what VW sells in India. It was showcased at the Guangzhou Auto Show earlier this month. This is not the first time we’re seeing VW try out a different name for a global model. Why its only Esteem and Cedia? Where is others?

Esteem and Gypsy continue to perform well in Indian rally scene without a replacement even after several years. Balenos and Hondas found doing good in the meantime but have seen more Cedias doing the job these days. Why teams prefer Esteem and Cedia though there are too many cars available to choose from? Read somewhere that even a driver with less talent can take Esteem beyond the limits and it's a cost effective entry level car in rallying. What are the other reasons why Indian teams don't go for other cars? Is it because these manufactures may sponsor vehicles and others don't? I am not good enough to compare reliability and capability of machines in dirt track. Mods: Couldn't find similar thread hence posting here. If found inappropriate, kindly move/delete.
