SCOOP! Hyundai India planning compact SUV!

SCOOP! Hyundai India planning compact SUV!

No doubt the tremendous success of the XUV500, and the upcoming launches of the Ford Ecosport, Maruti Suzuki's RIII (Ertiga) and the mini-Xylo have had an influence on Hyundai's decision to bring in a compact SUV which will be unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi.

Will it be similar/smaller than the Tucson? Maybe on the lines of the Veloster? Only the Auto Expo 2012 will provide the answers.

Quote:

To remain competitive and growing strong in coming years, Hyundai is planning to enter the compact SUV segment in India which is the upcoming segment with less than 4 meter length SUVs with sub-1200 CC Petrol and sub-1500 CC Diesel engines. These cars get special excise benefits of about 8% over the larger counterparts in India.

Hyundai India will showcase a concept car (SUV) of less than 4 meters in length which will come to Indian roads in coming years and add up to the existing portfolio of Hyundai car in India.
