Leaked images of the 2012 Toyota FT-86 from a Japanese Brochure
The Toyota FT-86 Concept II was first showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in March and following the event there has been a lot of anticipation regarding the new sports car from Toyota. The final production-ready Toyota FT-86 is expected to make its grand debut in December at the Tokyo Motor Show, but thanks to a leaked Japanese brochure, we may have an early look at the new rear wheel drive sports car in production form. The leaked images reveal a design very similar to the one previewed on the myriad of FT-86 concept cars shown over the years, though there are some clear differences. The front end has been significantly revised to be less aggressive and more attractive. The first details of the interior reveal a central placed tachometer, a big steering wheel, minimalistic controls and a basic design. Unfortunately, technical details of the new 2012 Toyota FT-86 are yet to be revealed but the FT-86 is expected to feature a 2.0 liter Boxer engine with approximately 200hp. The name of the new sports car will most likely change to "Celica". |
