2013 Mercedes Benz SL-Class test mule spy shots

The Mercedes Benz SL Roadster is anchored at the top of Mercedes’ production range and usually enjoys a good run of around 10 years before it is gone off the market. The next SL-Class will be due in 2013 and today we have for you a batch of spy shots of the upcoming 2013 Mercedes Benz SL-Class caught undergoing testing at Nurburgring.

The 2013 SL-Class is expected to be a major upgrade from the current model, with a completely new aluminum spaceframe, components borrowed from the SLS AMG, and an all-new engine lineup. The next generation Mercedes-Benz SL-Class spotted in these pictures has very little camouflage and shows the new aluminum body with sculptured doors.

It is rumoured that a V6 and V12 will also be available. According to insiders, the SL63 AMG and SL65 AMG are in the works as well. Set to go on sale in the second half of next year, as a 2013 model, the new car will adopt styling influences seen on the new SLK and SLS AMG and even the new CLS, which will share a similar tail-light design.
