*Installed* - Xenos Backup Camera on a Fluidic Verna
Hi All, Since my variant didn't come with a backup camera and the sharply raked rear windscreen not helping, I decided to get an aftermarket camera installed. I've had good experience with Xenos before and since they had a product in their portfolio that met my requirements, I decided to go with it. I bought the 7" Mirror mounted display (the 3.5" was unavailable) and a CCD High Definition Camera with 170 degrees of view angle. The camera is extremely small compared to the CMOS version. Its the same size as what a 25 paisa coin used to be. I must say I'm very impressed. The low light performance is excellent. This was my biggest fear. I won't bore you with a long story and let the pictures do the talking instead. The Display unit. Its not quite as big as it appears. But at 7" its not small either. Take a look at the exterior pic to get an idea. Attachment 844341 Control shot to show the pitch black condition. Interior light is on so that the camera wont hunt for focus. Attachment 844342 Control shot with flash. You can see my brother 10 feet behind the car. Attachment 844343 View from inside the car. The rear windscreen is tinted and has 30% visibility. Attachment 844344 The camera doing what its supposed to do! I know I don't have to mention this, but the image is sharper than what its appears here. Remember, this is an image of an image. Attachment 844345 Attachment 844346 Now you can imagine what the daylight performance will be. I still haven't adjusted the settings for color/contrast etc. The unit has inbuilt bluetooth. It can accept two more video feeds. Though I won't be using any of these extras. The MRP for the 7" Display is Rs.6500 and the Camera retails for Rs.2495. Warranty is valid for a year. I bought it for Rs.7200 all inclusive with Bill and Warranty. If you need to get it done, give a call to Xenos @ 080 329 41199 and ask for Sreekanth. Tell him about my car and you should get it for the same price. I am in no way associated with Xenos or any of its partners. |
