Maruti Suzuki Xplore launched to take on the newly launched Hyundai Eon
Beset with labour trouble, Maruti Suzuki is doing its best to steal away some of the Hyundai Eon's thunder by coming up with limited edition versions of the best selling Maruti Alto called the Alto Xplore. The limited edition Xplore variants are available for both the Alto F8D as well as the Alto K10 models. Staying true to the limited edition moniker, only the top end models of the Alto F8D and the Alto K10 will get the limited edition treatment. The limited edition Xplore variants of the Alto will get a bunch of new features to make the Alto more alluring than the Hyundai Eon. Maruti claims that 10 new features have been added to the Xplore limited edition models of the Alto F8D and the Alto K10. The 10 "new" features are :
A double din stereo, USB-Bluetooth connectivity and the leather seats are something that will make the Alto F8D and Alto K10 more desirable, no doubt about that as the Alto is still a very strong , tried and tested package that is super reliable. But the other features seem more like a lame attempt to steal the Eon's glory rather than a real attempt to give the prospective small car buyer more bang for his/her buck. Pricing remains unavailable for the moment though we'll update this page as soon as we get official quotes for the Alto Xplore's pricing. It will be quite interesting to see whether Alto sales continue to maintain strong numbers even after the Eon's launch today. Alto K10 buyers however might stick to the Alt for the higher power than the K10 motor offers. Maruti, for its part will be hoping for the Alto Xplore variants to give it some much needed ammo to battle the top end variants of the Eon. Watch this space to find out whether the Alto brand has enough cred to take on the Eon. ChopShop Sources : indiancarsbikes.in |
